I have been preparing for Emerald City Comic Con and Sakura Con for the past month or so, plus preparing for the clinic I work at to move which was a lot more work than I had anticipated since I do all the marketing for the clinic and had to get the word out everywhere. I had a lot of fun at ECCC, but unfortunately not everything went according to plan...My accessories for two costumes didn't come in time so Batwoman and Scarlet Witch were not finished and worn...but I had a zentai suit issue happening with Batwoman so I am in the process of attempting to repair her (making a one seam zentai suit is frustrating...) I really doubt I will have her done by Sakura Con, but definitely for some summer photoshoots! Scarlet Witch I will almost certainly have done by Sakura Con. I just need to sew the zipper on her body suit.

I did, however, just dress cute for the con. I finished my Marvel print dress which I wore on Friday and Sunday. I got a surprising amount of compliments on it and Grey DeLisle (voice of Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender, among many others) said she loved my dress and that I need to sell them on Etsy. She even wrote that my dresses rock on the paper she autographed for me. She is such a nice person and so pretty too! I'm hoping I can snag one of my lovely photographer friends to take a couple of photos of the dress, both on me and on the mannequin so I can get it up in my shop. They will be made to order of course and I'm trying to find the best way to give options for pattern choice based on what is in the stores around me.

Even though Batwoman wasn't finished, I did dress up as a hipster Batwoman on Saturday. Since I wasn't in a real costumes there aren't a lot of picture from this convention, but I think I might make a small collage of some of my favorite candid photos and post it up as one deviation. I was a little sad I didn't get to see certain people as often as I had hope, but Sakura Con is soon and they are in my hotel room this time around so that works! The only bad thing that happened was my rib popped out of place Monday morning...I told my chiropractor about my weekend and that I had slept on the floor and she told me I can't do that anymore...apparently that is what caused my rib to slowly start slipping out of place and eventually completely pop out when I woke up Monday. Fun times! I love feeling like someone is literally stabbing me in the back! But it all got pushed back into place and everything seems okay for now.

Now we are all settled in to the clinic, things are a bit less stressful on the work front and I can hopefully get my Sakura Con costumes done without a hitch. After Sakura Con I will be spending most of my time focusing on my Etsy store and commissions. The move has been great in terms of money, but now that it's over my hours will be pretty low for awhile so I'll be focusing on my art stuff.

Did any of you go to ECCC? Or are going to Sakura Con? I'm sad I missed some people at ECCC that I was hoping to see, but I hope I'll see people at Sakura Con!

I think I saw you at the Con on Saturday! It was my first time going so no dressing up.
